100 INTERNS COMPLETE MENTORSHIP IN MAKUENI COUNTY GOVERNMENT

100 interns have successfully completed their one year placement in different departments in the Makueni County Government.

Makueni County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education and ICT Elizabeth Muli who presided over their graduation ceremony at the Centre for People with Disability (PWD) in Wote town, noted the importance of internship in equipping learners for the competitive job market. “Today we have an exit meeting in a mentorship programme that has seen 100 interns benefiting from March last year. Our work is to nurture them so that they can transform their lives. Over 10 of them have secured jobs elsewhere,” observed Muli.

“Through rigorous mentorship sessions, interns gained indispensable skills, from crafting and compiling Curriculum Vitae (CVs) to enhancing their personal branding amidst competition,” she added.

While challenging the exiting interns to be strategic, the CECM asked them to position themselves to benefit from the internet where jobs are advertised. Muli also revealed that the Makueni County government will advertise for the intern positions in April 2024 clarifying that the application will be done online.
