KENYA’S LARGEST CAREER CONVERGENCE IS LIVE!

The landmark 1st National Career Conference and Exhibition 2026 is now underway at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, setting the stage for a transformative national dialogue on education, skills, and the future of work in Kenya.

Convened by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), the three-day event (January 27–29) brings together students, parents, educators, industry leaders, and policymakers under one roof to shape clearer pathways for learners under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and the evolving TVET and CBET landscape.

A National Platform for Career Navigation

With the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Mr. Julius Ogamba, EBS, as the Chief Guest, the conference responds to the urgent need for credible and accessible career guidance. It aims to directly link education with labour market demands, ensuring learners make informed choices that align with both their talents and the economy’s needs.

What’s Happening at the Conference?

– Expert-Led Sessions: Practical insights on career pathways in STEM, Social Sciences, Arts & Sports, and Technical Vocational fields.

– Exhibition Hub: Universities, TVET institutions, industry regulators, and employers showcasing opportunities.

– CBC & TVET Focus: Special forums on navigating the new curriculum and leveraging vocational training for employment and entrepreneurship.

– Labour Market Alignment: Direct engagement with industry on the skills needed now and in the future.

Why This Matters for the Vocational Community

For students, parents, and trainers focused on technical and vocational education, this event is a critical touchpoint. It underscores the national drive to elevate skills training, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and industry partnerships, core pillars for employability and economic growth under Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

“This conference is a vital step in connecting learning to earning,” said a KUCCPS representative. “We are bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace.”
