MIGORI ‘SHOE’ THROWING SUSPECTS RELEASED UNCONDITIONALLY

Security officers in Migori have released three suspects who were being held following the incident that saw a shoe hit president William Ruto when he was addressing a crowd at Kehancha on 5th of May.

The three According to security officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a review of several video recordings of the incident showed that the suspects had not targeted the President. Based on this evidence, authorities concluded that there was no basis for pressing charges.

Local leaders have condemned the incident.

President Ruto was launching a 200-unit affordable housing project in Kehancha, Kuria West Constituency during a three-day working tour of Migori County.
