The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) has disclosed that it targets to certify 420,000 artisans across Kenya through its recognition of prior learning [RPL] Program.
Speaking to the media on Monday at NITA Athi river Campus ,the Acting Director General Theresa Wasike urged county governments across the country to be among key players in the education and technical training sectors.Employers nationwide have also been urged to partner with the Authority in order to certify the targeted number of artisans.
The director general also affirmed the Authority’s commitment to achieve the certification target by the end of October, 2025.
RPL provides a formal pathway for individuals to have their skills and knowledge gained outside traditional settings recognized.
