PRESIDENT RUTO RECEIVES REPORT ON IEBC RECRUITMENT
President William Ruto Tuesday received the final report on the recruitment of nominees for the positions of Chairperson and Members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC. The report was handed over by the IEBC Selection Panel chaired by Dr Nelson Makanda at State House, Nairobi.
The president confirmed he will now nominate the successful candidates and forward their names to Parliament for vetting and approval, as per the IEBC Act.
The interviews for the positions concluded began on 27th of March 2025 and concluded on April 25th, with 106 candidates interviewed for commissioner roles, and 11 candidates for the chairperson position.
The public now awaits the official announcement of the nominees, who will play a key role in overseeing Kenya’s elections.
