The remains of the late Raila Amollo Odinga have been flown back to the country ahead of his burial scheduled for Sunday 19th of October.
Raila’s remains were received by a multitude of mourners at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) with said to have gained access around the state pavilion.His body will later be taken to Lee funeral home.
A special sitting in parliament to eulogize one of Kenya’s most influential figures in politics is currently underway.Later Senate which has been recalled from recess will also have a sitting in the honor of the late right honourable Raila Odinga.
Raila’s body was supposed to lie in state and a public viewing of his body is scheduled for noon at parliament but those plans were abandoned amid growing numbers of mourners with the viewing but instead moved to Kasarani.Friday there will be a State funeral and public viewing at Nyayo National Stadium. His body will be flown to Kisumu for public viewing at Jomo Kenyatta stadium and later buried at his home in his Opoda farm in Bondo.
