Basic education Principal Secretary Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok has urged all public schools to transition fully to the government’s E-Procurement (EGP) system. He emphasized that this digital shift will enhance transparency, accountability, and proper utilization of public funds.
Bitok who commissioned two new classrooms funded under the T.I.G Project 2023/2024 at St. James Esumeyia, Kakamega County reaffirming the government’s commitment to quality education infrastructure.
On school discipline, the PS condemned corporal punishment and sexual harassment, terming them outdated and unlawful. He said investigations are underway in Marsabit County over a reported case, warning that any offenders will face full legal action. His remarks come a day after he called for the arrest and prosecution of a teacher accused of grooming students at Alliance Girls High School.
