The Kenyan government is conducting a nation-wide sensitization forum for the modularized Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) curricula.
The Ministry of Education, through the State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training, recently launched the awareness campaign at Wote Technical Training Institute in Makueni County. The modularized curriculum, when implemented, will provide opportunities for trainees to exit and re-enter training with recognized industry skills. ” This will accelerate entry into employment through shorter targeted units of competency from the previous lengthy and strenuous theory-based units.” Said Principal Secretary, State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training, Dr Esther Muoria. The PS reiterated the importance of equipping the youth with relevant industry skills that will empower them to drive Kenya’s industrial development agenda.
